TEAMWORK ACTIVITY: AP Calculus

Since our class functions in groups, we do teamwork problems daily. Last week in AP Calculus, we did Optimization problems. Each group member was given a different problem for which they needed to find a maximum or a minimum value. In our groups, each student is assigned a color. During this activity, the original group members moved to their "color groups" and worked their mutual problem. After finding the solution, the color groups disbanded with each member going back and teaching their original group how to do the problem. This is actually a type of "Jigsaw" Group problem.

An extension of this activity might be to use Skype to connect with other AP Calculus Students at other schools doing the same problems.
